Oh, Stella.

Stella McCartney, debuted her Starry Evening - Fall 2012 collection
this week in London. The new collection features simple -yet elegant
- evening looks with minimalistic shapes, bold prints, delicate lace and
color blocking [a fave of mine]. Rich gold metallic accents are also used
to top off a few of the looks with a touch of glam.

Here are few of my fave pieces from the collection & in typical
ME fashion, I've included a few dresses that are McCartney
inspired but priced on a "9-5's" girls budget.

Stella's Looks:

Model: Yasmin Le Bon

Model: Lucie de la Falaise
Model: Shalom Harlow

Model[s]: Shalom Harlow, Kate Moss, Amber Valetta

My Looks:

The Rebel Yell; "Style Stalker" - $190

Blaque Market - "The Tonight Dress" ; $42.95
[originally; $64!]

Blaque Market; "The Anzu Maxi Dress" $37.95
[originally; $65.00]

This last look can be considered a wild card due to
the daring cut out shape. I added it to my list because
of all of the bold colors Stella featured in her collection
and also because of the maxi style of the dress. And
ladies with all that hard work you've been putting in at
the gym, you'll be ready to rock this look come summer!

Check out the rest of Stella's look book HERE
& don't hesitate to become inspired to replicate
your own Stella inspired looks on the sidewalk
runways.

Tupac [Racer] Back

How could we all forget during the Summer of 2011 everyone screaming that "Tupac's Back" using their best rendition of  Rick Ross voice? And don't forget the "Uhh" at the end.

Anywho, this time Tupac is back but in the form of a racerback that is - via one of my favorite stores Forever21.

Forever 21; Tupac Racerback - $15.80

Keeping on the scale of the look, pair your tee with this faux leather pencil skirt to
take the tank from casual Saturday afternoon to a fun evening look to "get around"
in during a night on the town.

                                  Forever 21 - Ponte & Faux Leather Pencil Skirt;
                                                                         $17.80

Complete the look with some funky accessories, patterned tights,
& your best chunky heel or a good wedge shoe [my faves]. Dare to
be different; chose a shoe in a bright color, & not your basic black
since the entire scale of the look is black! You can also throw on
a cool blazer to top off the fit and to keep you warm during these
chilly nights.

            Happy Shopping Fashionistas!

Color Blocked: Part Deux

<>Last summer I blogged about my love for color blocking, as an ode to Miss Shaunie O'Neal who rocked an original color blocked dress on the 'Basketball Wives' reunion show. Now Nicki [Minaj] has been spotted rocking this trend leaving Good Morning America this past Thursday.
Nicki Minaj

And you'd never guess where you can find this color blocked goodie.
Hint: This dress is from a fashion chain store that features any & every fashion trend [& great accessories] for the low-low & if you know me you know I love getting pieces from this store.

 * * *
So have you figured it out yet?

Forever 21 - Colorblock Mess Dress; $27.80

Its from Forever 21!
Though I'm not crazy about the styling of Nicki's look but I do love the dress itself. Forever 21 is infamous for replicating more expensive looks but this time they were on the other end of the spectrum. Now the only thing left is for you to head over to your local F21 or use your mouse to click your way over to their website to purchase this goodie before its gone.

Happy Shopping!

An Ode to Miss Whitney Houston.

Whitney Houston
August 9, 1963 -  February 11, 2012

On the eve of her funeral, I just want to say how much this legend will truly be missed. As a kid I remember trying to belt "I Will Always Love You" never quite hitting that high note but in my mind I was in tune. In recent years I've found myself always wishing Miss Whitney well, rooting so hard for her. She was a true voice, and most of all she was real. Though life may have presented her with personal struggles, we will never forget the voice and her passion for performing.

There will never be another, long live your legacy.

Rest in Peace.
